Chrysalis has a number of different teams to suit various venues and events. All presentations can work in conjunction with Alpha, Y Course or other ‘seeker' events, as a first step introduction to the Christian faith.
We believe in total professionalism and endeavour to provide top quality entertainment. We are aware that people outside the church will be very quick to criticise and are very keen to ensure we equal the secular entertainment they are used to.
Our aim is to provide an evening's entertainment for you and those friends who would not feel comfortable in a church. This is why we recommend you book a neutral venue such as a hall, function room at a hotel or even a theatre!
We do our best to provide a relaxed atmosphere, and you can totally rely on us to avoid any of the ‘cringe factor' sometimes associated with Evangelistic events.
Our programmes largely use secular material with the Christian aspect introduced in a very relevant, non-contrived and relaxed way.
We provide the entertainment, all you need to do is provide the venue, publicise the event in your locality and ensure church members invite their friends!
The main teams are as follows:
The Chrysalis Core Team
This comprises live musicians including vocalist(s), keyboard, drums, guitars plus drama and multimedia on a large video screen.
Best suited to a larger venue / audience this team provides a cabaret show in the style of Saturday Night at the London Palladium. Fast moving and entertaining the content should appeal to all ages. Programmes are based around general themes such as love, relationships, nostalgia and life in general.
Music is mainly middle of the road to contemporary. Plenty of drama, plenty of laughs, plenty of variety, plenty of polish! Wide range of themes and programmes available from very low key outreach to more challenging depending on the event.
Programmed to last 2 hours with an interval, the Core Team will provide a full evening's entertainment.
The Chrysalis Cabaret Team
This slightly smaller group provides a more ‘accoustic' style of evening. The team comprises live musicians including piano and cello plus vocalist(s) and comedy / drama.
Ideally suited to an after dinner environment the shows are programmed to last just over an hour and provide a ‘West End' style evening.
The style is best described as middle of the road, piano bar type music which promises to be hugely entertaining, funny and relaxed.
Songs from the shows form the majority of the evening combined with gentle yet powerful gospel music, with a short thought-provoking comment from one of the performers.
The Chrysalis Classical Team
ILYA are a professional quartet made up of flute, violin, viola and cello. They provide a first class evening with a wide variety of music including; Mozart, West Side Story, Thais Meditation, Pachelbel's Canon and the theme from Schindler's list.
Images on a large screen, and chat complete the presentation. The programme is relaxing and thought provoking and is designed to appeal to the Classic FM audience as well as anyone who loves music!
The audience absorb something of the Christian perspective from anecdotes from the musicians and thought-provoking comments combined with images on the screen.
This non-threatening presentation from the ensemble would be equally at home whether at the Wigmore Hall or in a local church building.
We feel that as a responsible Christian Ministry it is right to operate on the basis of a suggested gift to allow as many fellowships as possible to host a Chrysalis event regardless of cost. However, to operate a quality ministry and as a registered charitable trust we must be able to cover the cost of the production and our travel expenses.
