An Enchanted Evening - 8th June 2008
An Enchanted Evening on Sunday 8th June at the Elgiva Chesham was a fantastic event. It included a glittering gala of Songs from the Shows and musical favourites from film and TV. The show featured Mandy Watsham and Nicki Matthews plus special guests including Clive Dunstall from London’s West End. This was a fundraising concert, and we are pleased to report that the concert raised over £3500 to support our work in 2008/9. Thanks to those who attended or contributed in any way.
Chrysalis Community Choir
The Community Choir is a brand new initiative for Chrysalis. The aim of the choir is for people from the local community who love to sing to get together, meet new friends and have fun whilst singing a variety of styles including Gospel and Musical Theatre.
We are fast approaching the first rehearsal and things are progressing really well. Over 30 singers have already signed up to join the new initiative which starts rehearsing on Wednesday 5th November at the McMinn Centre Chesham for 5 weeks.
If you love singing and feel your voice hasn’t been used since those dim and distant school assembly days there are still places available. Please contact office@chrysalis.org.uk or 01494 581115 for an information pack and get warbling!
Quiz Night – Thank You!
Thanks so much to all who came along and supported our Quiz Night on 17th October. It was memorable night, not least for the extra special musical element. We had a whopping turnout of over 100 people, and made about £270. We all now know a lot more about The Eurovision Song Contest and UK castles!!!!
‘Everyone enjoyed the evening. Their playing was superb and the whole presentation was highly professional. There have been several requests for a comeback next year!'

ILYA are an ensemble of professional musicians who work together to appeal to the Classic FM audience and anyone who loves great music!
Through an evening of classical entertainment, audiences can absorb something of the Christian perspective whilst in a relaxed, yet extraordinary atmosphere. The quartet plays popular pieces including Mozart's flute quartet, Pachelbel's Canon, Thais Meditation and the theme from Schindlers List, combined with images on a large screen.
This non-threatening presentation from the ensemble is highly entertaining, powerful, relaxing and thought provoking. It would be equally at home at the Wigmore Hall or in a local church building!
